Driver turns misfortune into a fortune
Driven Women
By Lee Tuveson
Dear GG,
My former boss told me that I don’t belong in an office, and now after spending thousands of dollars to get my CDL, my husband tells me that I don’t belong in the truck, either.
How am I supposed to figure out what kind of job I should do? My husband tells me that I need to work. The kids are grown, and I can’t sit at home all day. I’m lost. What now?
Hopeless Trucker

Hopeless,
First, get a new handle. You’ve got a CDL, so you’re not hopeless. Second, just because your husband isn’t comfortable driving with you doesn’t mean that someone else wouldn’t be. It took me three co-drivers, my ex-husband included, to find one that I could drive with.
You’re giving up too soon on yourself and allowing negative influences to run your life. What are your interests, passion and hobbies? What do you enjoy doing? What do you believe in? If you’re passionate about driving professionally, then find a way to drive. If flowers are your thing, work in a nursery. Check out this article, it may inspire you: http://helpguide.org/life/finding_career.htm.
Snap out of it, Hopeless! We don’t have time for self- pity.
Cheers,
GG
