PublisherGreetings and happy March! For those of you attending the 2010 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY, “march” will take on a whole new meaning. In conjunction with MATS and The Trucking Solutions Health Group, Driver HEALTH magazine is helping organize the 61+ Health Awareness Walk. The walk, open to everyone, will be held March 26 on sidewalks around the Kentucky Exposition Center, home of MATS.
So what does “61+” mean?  Let’s just say that we’re all hoping to raise the average truck driver life expectancy age, and we won’t be fully satisfied until that 61+ number grows to 77+, which is in line with the average American life expectancy rate.
Proceeds from the walk will be donated to the St. Christopher fund, and participation in the walk is free. You can sign up in advance at driverhealth.org. More information is available on page 19 of this issue.
Thanks go out to all of the companies who are helping sponsor this event; we are adding sponsors every day, and they will be listed on the registration Web site page as well as on signage at the show. We hope that you will be able to visit us at our booth this year. As always, we welcome your input.
If you are not able to attend MATS, I wish you safe and healthy travels, and I hope to have an opportunity to meet you at an event later on in the year.
