Boyd Bros. provides Howard with comfortable lifestyle

Clayton, Alabama --When Dennis Howard first signed on to drive for Boyd Bros. Transportation, he knew he’d found exactly what he was looking for.

“Boyd has provided the life that I’ve always wanted,” says Howard. “I have enough money to take care of my family and do other things on top of it. I always get time off to go home when I request it. Boyd is a very family-oriented company.”

Howard recently reached two million safe miles during his 22-year career driving for Boyd Bros. Although the company recognizes drivers who reach this milestone a number of different ways, for Howard, the recognition means more than any other reward ever could.

“Every time I stop, there are guys who see the decal that Boyd put on my truck that tells everyone I’ve driven this many miles safely,” says Howard. “They congratulate me and ask what they need to do to accomplish this too. This has been an incredible goal for me to work towards. I feel very blessed.”

Boyd Bros. was recently selected as Best Fleet for Company Drivers by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and CarriersEdge. Howard has been telling other drivers that Boyd is the best company to work at for years.

“I always tell them that they should come to Boyd because I work here,” jokes Howard. “In all seriousness, I tell them that they can look around, but they’ll find that Boyd has the best of everything – the best equipment, the best retirement, the best insurance – and the pay is always right.”

“I love to fish, but I usually spend most of my time at home playing with my two grand-daughters,” says Howard. He and his wife of 23 years, who live in Goodwater, Ala., are very thankful for the life Boyd Bros. has helped them provide for their family.
