Marten implements sleep disorder program
As part of its efforts to promote driver health and safety, Marten Transport has implemented a fatigue management program in partnership with Fusion Sleep at its Tucker, GA terminal, with plans to expand. The program helps identify risk factors in sleep disorders and apnea and provides immediate treatment at no cost to drivers. Marten Chief Operating Officer Robert Smith calls the program "the gold standard of addressing critical sleep and health issues within the driving population."

Knight opens Atlanta service center
Knight Transportation recently opened a service center just off the interstate at 4275 Shirley Drive in Atlanta. The facility offers drivers not only the chance to fuel up and get their truck serviced, but also the option to take a quick shower, catch up on laundry and relax in the lounge. Having a safe place to relax is one of the most important advantages to Knight driver Jeff Burden. "It's just nice to not have to worry about sleep and showering," he says.
